Lyrics in your MacBook’s notch
The notch on a MacBook Pro or Air is a black strip you look past all day. Peekabop turns it into a tiny karaoke screen: an island grows out of the camera and sings along with whatever is playing.
What it looks like
When a song starts, a black island extends from the notch, just wide enough for the current line, and blends into it like part of the hardware. Each word lights up as it’s sung, using one of sixteen effects: classic karaoke fill, soft lift, held notes, a bouncing ball, neon, sparkles, fireworks and more. Hover the island to see the track and how far in you are.
Your menu bar stays usable: the island sits in the space the notch already takes, plus a little around it.
Works with
- Spotify, the desktop app or the web player.
- Apple Music, including its music videos.
- YouTube and other browser playback in Safari, Chrome, Arc or Firefox.
No notch? No problem
On an external display or a Mac without a notch, the island sits at the top centre of the screen. Or pick another display: a floating Pill you can put anywhere, Subtitles along the bottom, or Stage full screen. You can switch any time from the menu bar.
Quiet when it should be
Instrumentals and songs without lyrics get a small ♪ instead of an empty bar. Pause the music and it steps aside until you press play again.
